Windows 10 Hardware Test Results

Microsoft® Windows® 10 Hardware Test Results

Prior to Microsoft’s release of Windows 10, we urged caution/restraint in installing the free upgrade. We needed time to test hardware we’ve sold with their newest operating system. If you didn’t see our earlier emails and posts, you can read them here and here. At the time, we anticipated giving you the results of our testing before January, 2016. The purpose of this message is to share the results of our testing.

With the holiday season upon us (Thanksgiving and Christmas), we still recommend waiting until January before installing the Windows 10 upgrade. It’s possible to have issues with drivers for motherboards (onboard audio, onboard video, onboard networking, etc.) that we don’t have available in our office and can’t test. Plus, you may experience frustration or feel that you are wasting time trying to get accustomed to the operating system’s new user interface while customers are waiting on you and your frontliners.

As expected, we haven’t encountered any problems with Bookstore Manager Software on Windows 10. However, we have found some hardware that doesn’t work on Windows 10.
