RMS Version 8.00i Program Changes on the January 2015 Update

The monthly update disc you receive from BSMGR for RMS contains a current copy of the Christian Books & More^® database, new images, music samples and program changes. Remember to run IVDC after installing your update to reflect retail prices changes for your store’s inventory items. When that program completes, you can use IVL to print labels with the new prices.

As a reminder, each month’s update disc also includes a folder titled “Manual” that contains the current RMS manual. The file is in Microsoft Word format, and there is a free Word viewer program in the folder in case you don’t have a copy of Microsoft Word installed on your computer. • IF YOU HAVE A “Y” FOR WAREHOUSE PAIRS AND SPECIFY A WAREHOUSE AND ARE USING BIGBISAC FORMAT, INGRAM IGNORES THE WAREHOUSE PAIRS REQUEST. IF YOU CREATE AN ORDER FOR INGRAM WITH THIS COMBINATION, THE PROGRAM NOW WARNS YOU SO YOU CAN HAVE THE ORDER HANDLED BY INGRAM AS EXPECTED.

• WHEN YOU VIEW ITEM DETAILS ON AN ORDER, IF THE ITEM HAS A SPECIAL ORDER TIED TO THE PO, YOU CAN CLICK THE “?” BUTTON TO VIEW THE LIST OF SPECIAL ORDERS TIED TO THE PO. THE LIST OVERLAPPED THE BUTTONS BENEATH IT.

IVVM:

IT HAS BEEN REPORTED THAT ANCHOR WILL INCLUDE STORE CATEGORIES ON THEIR PRICING LABELS WHEN ORDERS ARE SENT VIA EDI WITH THE CATEGORIES IN STL FORMAT. “STL/ANCHOR FORMAT” IS NOW AN OPTION FOR CATEGORY/STICKER INFO.

ORDRINFO:

UPDATED LOOK FOR VERSION 8.0 AND ADDED SUPPORT FOR INGRAM’S BIGBISAC ORDER FILE FORMAT.

POS:

CAFE PRINTER SETTINGS CHANGE. AN ITEM SET UP TO PRINT WILL NOT OVERRIDE THE DEFAULT DEPT PRINTER SETTINGS.

POSTHTTP:

ADDED LOGGING FOR DEBUGGING ISSUE REPORTED WHEN RUNNING ON WINDOWS XP.

POSMENU:

THE PROGRAM SUPPORTS CONFIGURING UP TO 99 MENUS. THE ENTRY FIELD WOULD ALLOW YOU TO ENTER UP TO 999 FOR THE MENU NUMBER. THE ENTRY FIELD IS NOW LIMITED TO MATCH THE SUPPORTED MENUS.

RMS Version 8.00F Program Changes on the October 2014 Update

The quarterly update from Dayspring is included on the October update. You don’t have to do anything special to recognize the new counter cards’ pricing. Simply install the October update with all folders (in particular the BOOK folder).

Please note that if your store is located in Canada, you can take advantage of the Dayspring file with Canadian prices by adding the following to your store’s environment file:

When applicable, the monthly update disc includes upcoming Munce catalog files you can process from the “IVPROMO” program. This month’s update includes two files for their November catalogs. One catalog (and matching data file) has promotional pricing from November 1^st through November 30^th. The other has promotional pricing from November 1^st through December 24^th. If you are sending out one of the November 2014 Munce catalogs to your customers, you need to use the file name that matches the promotion date range you chose to send.

• M-NOV-RN.TXT = November catalog with Regular sale prices through November 30^th.
• M-NOV-RD.TXT = November catalog with Regular sale prices through December 24^th.

• INDEX OUT OF BOUNDS ERRORS. MADE SEVERAL CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM CREATING UNIQUE LOOP VARIABLES TO TRY AND ADDRESS THE INTERMITTENT “INDEX OUT OF BOUNDS” ERRORS REPORTED BY A FEW STORES.

• AUDIO SEARCH BY VENDOR AND INT’L SEARCH BY SERIES ALWAYS YIELDED NO RESULTS.

IVDIPG2:

IF THE SERIES NAME HAS A “&” IN IT, THE PROGRAM WAS TREATING IT LIKE A “HOT-KEY” OR “ALT-KEY”. IT NOW SHOWS CORRECTLY.

IVM:

IF YOU ARE IN MASSIVE ADDITIONS AND YOU CHECK “SKIP LABELS”, THE BOX WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE CHECKED FOR THE ITEMS ADDED AFTER IT UNTIL YOU EXIT “IVM” OR SAVE AN ITEM WITH THAT BOX UNCHECKED.

IVPSCRN:

MOVED CHECK BOX THAT OVERLAPPED TEXT.

IVSI:

COSMETIC TWEAKS. GRADIENT WASN’T SHOWING ON ARCHIVES AND BUTTONS WERE A BIT LOW ON THE SCREEN.

• THE CREDIT CARD FUNCTION KEYS ON THE TOUCH POS SUB-TL SCREEN WEREN’T DISPLAYING CORRECTLY.

• ON THE TOUCH POS SUB-TL SCREEN, SOME BUTTONS WERE NOT DISABLING. CANCELLING OUT OF THE SLOT CREDIT CARD PROCEDURE CAUSED A NEGATIVE CHANGE AMOUNT.

• THE AUTO RESPONDER NOTE WAS NOT SHOWING IN POS.

• IF YOU CHOSE TOUCH POS SUB-TL OPTION 0 OR 2, THE PAYMENT BUTTONS WERE MIXED UP.

• EMAIL ONLY CREDIT CARD REPRINTS – BSMGR WASN’T CUTTING PAPER ON THE REPRINT COPY. THE FIRST COPY WAS SKIPPED EMAIL ONLY.

QBS:

• THE UPDATE ROUTINE NO LONGER TRIES TO UPDATE THE .EXE FILES FOR STORES USING A GX-2, SINCE THERE ARE NO DRIVERS FOR THIS HARDWARE BEYOND WINDOWS XP.

• REBURN ONLY WAS NOT WORKING IF THE STORE PRINTED THE CD BEFORE BURNING.

• MISC ENHANCMENTS – ADDED “REPAIR ALL QBS FILES” AND “PRINTER DIAGS” BUTTONS.

SCHEDULE:

“GENERATE BEST SELLER PRINTOUT” BUTTON HAD A COLOR ASSIGNED TO IT. REMOVED COLOR SO IT NOW LOOKS LIKE THE REST OF THE BUTTONS ON THE SCREEN. ALSO CHANGED “BSMGR/I.I.L” TO “BSMGR/EOI”.

SETFONTS:

REMOVED REFERENCES TO POS-SCREEN-TYPE. THIS VARIABLE ALLOWED FOR A TOUCH SCREEN KEYPAD USING AN EXTERNAL / SEPARATE PROGRAM. STARTING WITH VERSION 8, THE TOUCH SCREEN KEYPAD IS BUILT INTO BSMGR. ENABLING THIS SETTING CAUSED THE SCREEN TO ELONGATE SUCH THAT SOME BUTTONS NEAR THE BOTTOM OF WINDOWS WERE NOT VISIBLE.

TIMEPAGE:

COSMETIC TWEAKS. “ERRORS ON CARD” WAS OVERWRITING THE HOURS DISPLAY.

UPDTHOST:
